The second edition of New Space & Solutions has concluded in Seville, consolidating its position as one of the leading international gatherings in the space sector, having seen registrations increase by more than 26% compared to its first edition and bringing together an increasingly broad and diverse global ecosystem.

A total of 750 attendees — including astronauts, CEOs, managing directors, heads of innovation and business development, institutional representatives, researchers, university lecturers, engineers, specialist technicians, entrepreneurs and investors — took part in this second edition, which combined in-person and virtual formats. Specifically, the event had 627 in-person attendees and 123 virtual attendees, reflecting the growing international interest in New Space.
The event also brought together 400 companies from 20 countries, including Spain, the United States, France, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Sweden and Portugal, reinforcing its global nature and its ability to attract top-tier talent, investment and expertise.

A high-impact international programme
With an agenda featuring 138 speakers from 20 countries and the participation of over 100 organisations from the space ecosystem — 39 of which acted as sponsors — New Space & Solutions offered a comprehensive overview of the sector’s present and future, combining strategic presentations, round-table discussions, networking opportunities and a prominent exhibition area.
Among the most significant highlights was the live link-up with the International Space Station, one of the highlights of this year’s event, during which institutional representatives from Seville City Council and the Regional Government of Andalusia, alongside young talents such as Daniel Castro and Alejandra Estévez, were able to speak with NASA Commander Jessica Meir and ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, bringing space exploration closer to the public from a unique perspective.

The international scope of the event was also evident from the participation of leading space agencies, including NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), the Spanish Space Agency and JAXA, alongside others such as the Brazilian Space Agency, the Swedish Space Agency, the Bahrain Space Agency and the Chilean Space Association.
Industry leaders and strategic vision
The event was attended by key figures from the sector, such as Axiom Space’s chief astronaut, Michael López-Alegría, and the Spanish astronaut and president of Hispasat, Pedro Duque, who addressed the major challenges facing the space industry, with particular focus on Europe’s role in the new space economy in relation to powers such as the United States and China.

For his part, the Director of the Spanish Space Agency, Juan Carlos Cortés, played a prominent role during the opening day, in which he analysed the global context of the sector, marked by the momentum of the space economy, the ESA Ministerial Council (CM25) and the progress of strategic programmes such as Artemis II. Meanwhile, Ana María Marín, Director of the Technical Office of the Director of the Spanish Space Agency, argued for the urgent need for a law on space activities to provide legal certainty.

The high-level agenda of this second edition of New Space & Solutions featured prominent participation from officials of the Regional Government of Andalusia and Seville City Council, including Álvaro Pimentel, Deputy Mayor of Seville, as well as Teresa Riesgo, Secretary- -General for Innovation at the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities; Ana María Molina, CEO of Hisdesat; Miguel Belló, Commissioner for the Canary Islands Aerospace Strategy; Francisco Oliva Blázquez, Rector of Pablo de Olavide University; Juan Román, Managing Director of Andalucía Aerospace Business Cluster; and Luis Pérez, Director General of Sevilla TechPark.

The second edition of New Space & Solutions has generated an estimated economic impact of €1.4 million, according to data from Onclusive, consolidating its role as a driving force behind the economic and technological fabric of Seville and the surrounding area.
