Seville has taken a further step in its consolidation as the epicentre of the aerospace sector with the first connection in the history of Andalusia with the International Space Station (ISS). Within the framework of New Space & Solutions 2025, the Andalusian capital witnessed an unprecedented moment: a live conversation with Nichole Ayers, a member of the new crew of the ISS.

During the connection, Ayers shared her first impressions from the space station, where she will remain for the next six months, with representatives of the Junta de Andalucía and the Seville City Council. Excitedly, she said: ‘I’m fulfilling every little girl’s dream. I have always dreamed of travelling into space and here I am’.
Space, closer than ever
The event, held in the Cartuja Auditorium, has been organised by Medina Media Events with the support of the Department of University, Research and Innovation of the Andalusian Regional Government and the Seville City Council, as well as the collaboration of leading entities in the aerospace sector.
