The New Space & Solutions event will have a day dedicated to the Andalusian Universities, both national and international.
The Department of University, Research and Innovation will participate in several round tables in which satellites, space and emergencies will be discussed.
José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, Minister of University, Research and Innovation of the Andalusian Government, will be present at the opening day of the event.
The first edition of New Space & Solutions 2025 will put a special focus on the connection between universities, young talent and the space industry. Currently, the aerospace sector faces a critical challenge: thousands of vacancies that cannot be filled due to the lack of specialized profiles, especially women. This event aims to address this need and highlight the essential role that universities play in training talent, with special attention to Andalusian universities, which aspire to offer real market opportunities to their students and effective solutions for companies.

The event will feature the prominent presence of José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, Councilor for University, Research and Innovation of the Junta de Andalucía, who will be present on the opening day. In addition, the Department will be present at a panel where “Satellites: Space and Defense” will be discussed, reinforcing the link between university education and space technology applications. Another round table where the Ministry will also be very present is the one that will discuss the role of space in emergency management, fire fighting and environmental protection.
The Ministry of Universities will have a central role in this edition, highlighting the commitment of the Andalusian government to innovation, higher education and the space industry.
