After the success of its inaugural edition, New Space & Solutions already has a confirmed date for its second edition. The second edition will once again have a strong focus on female talent. In the first edition, almost 40% of the speakers were women, all of them leaders in their companies or organizations, which highlighted the important role they play in the sector. In 2026, New Space & Solutions will once again bring together women leaders in the space sector to share their experiences and reflections with interviews, talks and presentations in which they will tell their personal and professional stories, and launch inspirational messages for those young people who want to dedicate themselves to the aerospace sector.

The Spanish Space Agency, protagonist

Seville, headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency since 2024, will once again become the world capital of space for a week. The capital of Seville has established itself as a benchmark in the aerospace industry and the presence of the ESA confirms this leadership not only at regional and national level, but also at European level.

In the first edition of New Space & Solutions, AEE was present with the participation of its director, Juan Carlos Cortés, as ‘speaker of honor’, who was accompanied by the Spanish ESA astronaut, Pablo Álvarez. NASA, JAXA and the Italian Space Agency were also part of this meeting, which reinforces Seville’s role as the epicenter of the aerospace sector in southern Europe and consolidates a favorable ecosystem for the start-up of innovative companies in this field. It is expected that in the second edition all these agencies will once again play a prominent role in order to continue strengthening this position.

At the international level, this leadership is marked by the ESA-BIC start-up incubator to be launched in Seville, a program promoted by the European Space Agency (ESA) to support entrepreneurs developing businesses related to space technology or applying these technologies to other sectors.

600 attendees and an unprecedented milestone

The first edition of New Space & Solutions, an independent event that brings together all public and private stakeholders, attracted  600 professionals and 300 companies from 18 countries. These figures undoubtedly confirmed the boom of the aerospace industry both in Andalusia and at national and international level.

In addition, the first ever connection from Andalusia to the International Space Station (ISS) was made, a milestone that reinforces the region’s commitment to the aerospace industry. The commander and astronaut Nichole Ayers starred in a live connection in which she held a conversation with institutional representatives of the Junta de Andalucía and the City Council of Seville in which she shared her first impressions from the space station. The event was also attended by Axiom Space‘s chief astronaut of American nationality and Spanish origin, Michael López-Alegría.

Key event for the sector

As in its first edition, New Space & Solutions 2026 will once again focus on strengthening public-private collaboration and fostering cross-cutting innovation, in a context marked by growing investment in satellite constellations, Artificial Intelligence and space data-based services.

New Space & Solutions will also be a space for dialogue with supranational, national and local entities to promote policies such as the Strategic Space Plan; and will serve to identify funding sources and attract investors that can help startups. In addition, other issues such as security, sustainability, regulation and synergies will be discussed.

All the presentations of the first edition of New Space & Solutions are available for on-demand viewing through ‘El Observatorio’, the digital platform of Medina Media Events, where each intervention is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, free of charge.
